Feb 14th and 15th will be the Walleye Jamboree at Brevoort Lake ending with a big fireworks display. Be there or be square.
Well the fishing is good to fair and the bite is early and late. If you fish the morning try and have your lines in the water as soon as it starts to get light out. If you fish the night run be sure and stay till you can't see your tip-ups anymore. I have had no flags at dark and as I went around picking up the four tip-ups (wife is spoiled) I would find that one would have a fish that hit after it was too dark to see the flag. I have been lazy fishing taking the truck out and putting out four tip ups and having box supper with the wife while we catch a few Walleyes. Its as easy as fishing gets. The bite was slow last weekend with east wind heard Bill caught a 28 inch Walleye yesterday fishing the night run. Caught it on a tip-up with a swedish pimple that had a green sticker on it tipped with a walleye minnow. The best areas seem to be the south side of center reef, east of the weed line at little cut river, the rock on the north shore, as well as Bodene Bay and the channel from the main lake. Nobody is catching Blue Gills right now the lake is full of them but I sure can't find them this time of year. Pike are still biting well in Bodene and Christenson Bays. The fishing contest and jamboree is coming up middle of next month. I plan on fishing for Ciscoe the next couple of times I get out on Brevoort also have to take a trip across the ice bridge to Mackinac Island it has been open for a couple of weeks now.
